Hi, I’m Carmen Sognonvi and welcome to my blog! In this video, I’m going to give you a quick overview of who I am and what this blog is all about.
This blog is all about how to run a successful local business.
I’m one of the owners of a martial arts school in Brooklyn, New York, called Urban Martial Arts.
I’ve always been a bit of a business and marketing nerd. I’m constantly devouring business books, marketing blogs, magazines on entrepreneurship. But I find that I often have to sift through the information to find the few nuggets that apply to my business.
Small business is such a broad term. It can refer to everything from a solopreneur working out a home office, to a business with 1,500 employees.
And when you’re a local business that relies on people actually walking through your door to provide them with your product or service and get paid for it, you’re dealing with a specific set of constraints that’s very different from someone who does business online.
So what I hope to do with this blog is provide info that’s relevant especially to local business owners.
